Holiday Is Coming

    Holiday Is Coming

Two more weeks until I can recess and I'm thrill to kick back and relax but unfortunately my following school never closed and I have to proceed or my dad is going to bother me the whole day. Ordinarily I go to two school a day one in the morning and one at night. Which is a bad timing for my homework. Saturday is probably the only time I can relax and I'm happy with It.

πŸƒπŸƒThe Big Race (Athletics) πŸƒπŸƒ

On 21st of November, The big race had arrive and I was excited. Usually I'm scared but this time I received a message from Mrs Vickers saying that I couldn't run for 2 whole week because of my medication. I saw all the parents cheering from a distance when the race started to be honest I was cheering as well but not that loud. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the beginners charging their legs to victory. The race goes in order we start it of with Room 12 doing the 400 meter then 100 meter then of course 200 meter to end the day. I was a bit sad because we couldn't bring pop corn to enjoy the race but it still cheered me up.

Ruapotaka School was very lucky to be part of Manaiakalani Community because our school received an invitation to participate in the movie making to show off our amazing item. Our film is based on The Benefits of Rugby, and the title of our movie is 'Rugby Values.' Our movie was the third one to play on the big screen. We had two confident presenters; Vaimoana and Meafou. Our movie was display in Sylvia Park Hoyts Cinemas.

My favourite film was presented by the Point England school because half of the film was comedy. It was Finally time to go back to school  and we arrive back to school safely.

Term 4 Is Back From Holiday

jjjjj
"Welcome!" Mrs Vickers said, when we walked past her. Later on, I saw Jack, Pate, Min Zin and the rest of the boys playing our favourite sport, Basketball. As soon as I arrived to class, I dropped off my bag and quickly ran off to the Basketball Court and joined my friends with their Basketball game. While Dakbai and Pate were having an amazing battle, I was enjoying every moment of the game. This game just turned into WAR! After that, the school bell rang and all the seniors assembled in front of Room 11. We did our favorite fitness Zomba!! I had forgotten some of the moves but what are friends for.

Our Amazing Science Experiment

This week my friend and I are permanently working on a science experiment called Colour Changing.
Basically you have to use a strong cardboard and draw three perfect circles and then colour them in. When you finish the drawing it won't spin itself so you have to use a one meter string.

At this point you are ready. All you have to do is spin the circle as fast as you can or the experiment will sadly fail.
If you achieve your a spinning 90% it will work.  It depends on  how you let it go. If you let go in a right direction  it will work but if you do it in a wrong way don't even try. When you finish you will see the result of the changing colour.

πŸƒπŸƒCross Country πŸƒπŸƒ

Today is a big day for the year 7's and 8's because we had cross country for fitness and this is the most exhausting sport. We had to run two laps around the street and the finishing time depended on how fast you ran.

The lap will increase every next week for the year 8's and 7's.  It will be 4 laps and for the fast runners it will be at least 5 laps if they have time.

I was able to run on the first and the second day but I became sick and wasn't able to run any more but today I tried my best to run.

Hopefully I will get better and then I can run again.

πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰The Return Of Technicraft πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰

On Wednesday we had some changes at Tech about what we were going to do for Term 3. There were 3 classes and only 2 of them were available because there were a small number of people in Year 7's and 8's.
The two classes that were available were Glass and Graphics. The year eight's are doing Glass, so that meant  the year seven's were in the Graphics class.

Our teacher's name is Mr Grundy and he's a professional at doing stain glass and pewter. We will be working in this class for a pretty long time because our teacher
Mr Grundy told us that we are working with him for the next 13 more weeks.

For our first task we had to create a pattern for our Glass design and it was really hard thinking. The design that I choose was a car but it wasn't available because there were too many curves but luckily I had a second design and that is a boat.

πŸƒπŸƒOrienteering πŸƒπŸƒ

On Tuesday the year 8s and 7s had to do an activity called orienteering. Orienteering is about how good you are at reading maps. We lined up near the junior park to get our map and our clip card. When we received the two objects we all strolled off to our clippers. I was confused at the beginning but my friend and my teachers help me. Everybody got use to the map in a couple of minutes but I was still confused when the activity ended.
I enjoyed running around the school and clipping my paper.

😐😐 Ōur Ŝtunning Δ€ssembly 😐😐

On Friday 28th July, Ruapotaka School had an amazing assembly. We performed our entertaining items in front of the entire school.  There were different performances from different classes and the first class was Room 1, followed by Rooms 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, then it was finally our turn to show off our item.
I was really nervous when we all stood up and strolled to the stage because we were about to sing an amazing song called 'How Far I'll Go' by Alessia Cara.  All the students' opinion on the singing was negative but our teacher thought it was on point.

😒The Return Of Term 3 😒

It's time to give up our relaxing days and get back to learning because today is the first day of Term 3. I was really excited to come back to school and learn. When I arrived at school I thought I was early but I was nowhere near close because the seniors were already doing fitness. But I was lucky that they just started fitness so I was still able to join in and jog with my friends. Our first activity for term 3 was running around the senior block for 10 minutes.

🌠🌠🌠Matariki 🌠🌠🌠

Last week, Room 12 were learning about Matariki and how it is special to Maori people. Matariki is the Maori name for the cluster of stars also known as the Pleiades. Matariki rises in mid winter (during late May or early June.) For many Maori, it heralds the start of a new year. Some celebrations last up to at least three days or less, possibly more. Many people around New Zealand fly kites, light fireworks, perform a kapa haka and have special dances at festivals. Matariki is really a special event to be remembered, carried on in the future and to be celebrated.

πŸƒOur Daily Fitness πŸƒ

Every Morning after the first bell, all the seniors have to line up for our daily fitness. Our fitness is running, and we have to run around the senior block for at least 10 minutes.

Sadly I can't run with my friends because it's Ramadan and I have a month of fasting.

When I'm not fasting I usually run with two of my friends, Jack and Mika. We always run on the left because we don't want to slow down the people that are overtaking us.

πŸ₯›Special Milk Day πŸ₯›

Today was a special day for all the schools that drink milk because today at our school we have a day called National Milk Day. It's all about supporting and helping student who never drink milk or who can't afford milk. That's the reason the day is important.

😼New Term New Tech😼

On Wednesday we had some changes at Tech about what we were going to do for Term 2. There were 3 classes and only 2 of them were available because there were a small people of Year 7's and 8's.

The two classes that were available were cooking and graphics and the year eight's were in the Graphics class, so that meant that the year seven's were in the cooking class.

Our teacher's name is Mr Pineda and he's a professional artist. We were working in this class for a pretty long time because our teacher Mr Pineda told us that we are working with him for the next 13 more week.

For our first task we had to create a design for our juice boxes and it was really hard thinking of a design because there were a lot of good ones. I had a good time at Tech and I think this Tech is going to be the best of all.

🏫Back To School Term 2🏫

School has started. It was exciting at first until my teacher asked us to use our Chromebook for work. Our 2 weeks of holidays brought us down to not using our brain and not feeling like doing anything but sit in front of the television and be lazy. Well, today has kind of been fun before starting our learning. We had running and assembly.

🍳Cooking Class 🍳

Every Wednesday Room 12 and Room 11 go to Tamaki College for Tech. This term we are doing cooking and our teacher's name is Mrs Tuipolotu.

We train to be high quality chefs. We partner up every week and my buddy is Jack. On the first week we made cupcake donuts.
Last week we cooked a pizza wheel. The pizza wheel was my favourite so far.

I'm enjoying my cooking class this year.

Game Master😎

Today two special visitors from Game Master came to visit our school. They told us some stories and did some plays. The story was about Dave, Meria and T and they always like to fight. All the students had to present a play and we did the part where Becca and Brian moved in to the house. At the end of the show Room 12 and Room 11 earned a badge and a card.

Tabloid

On Wednesday after lunch Ruapotaka School had Tabloids. There were four houses and the names of the houses were Kikorangi, Kakariki, Kowhai and Whero. My house team was Kowhai. Kowhai means yellow in Maori. We lined up in our houses to get ready for the sport events. My favourite sport was soccer because that's the only sport I know how to play.

2017 Assembly

After the Waitangi weekend we had an assembly on Tuesday. Room 12 had to host an assembly. We did a dance competition for the assembly and me and Lupe had to go around the senior block to get two dancers from the classes. When we finished we went back to Room 12 and put the dancers name into a document. Vaimoana chose two songs called 'Be Happy' and 'Lean On Me'.
