๐Ÿ˜ขThe Return Of Term 3 ๐Ÿ˜ข

It's time to give up our relaxing days and get back to learning because today is the first day of Term 3. I was really excited to come back to school and learn. When I arrived at school I thought I was early but I was nowhere near close because the seniors were already doing fitness. But I was lucky that they just started fitness so I was still able to join in and jog with my friends. Our first activity for term 3 was running around the senior block for 10 minutes.

๐ŸŒ ๐ŸŒ ๐ŸŒ Matariki ๐ŸŒ ๐ŸŒ ๐ŸŒ

Last week, Room 12 were learning about Matariki and how it is special to Maori people. Matariki is the Maori name for the cluster of stars also known as the Pleiades. Matariki rises in mid winter (during late May or early June.) For many Maori, it heralds the start of a new year. Some celebrations last up to at least three days or less, possibly more. Many people around New Zealand fly kites, light fireworks, perform a kapa haka and have special dances at festivals. Matariki is really a special event to be remembered, carried on in the future and to be celebrated.
